The Challenge
Ulthera / Merz Aesthetics — the global aesthetic medicine brand behind the Ultherapy platform — needed a flagship Asia-Pacific KOL (Key Opinion Leader) conference in Seoul that would convene leading dermatologists and aesthetic physicians from across multiple APAC markets. The brief required a production partner who could simultaneously handle (a) a clinical-grade stage and visual identity worthy of a global medical device brand, (b) multilingual run-of-show with simultaneous interpretation across several APAC languages, (c) clinical and physician-facing video content suitable for post-event medical education, and (d) protocol-level operational discipline expected by HCP (Healthcare Professional) audiences. Above all, the client required one accountable partner — not a patchwork of vendors — to safeguard a brand operating in a regulated medical category.
REFAD's Approach
- Unified in-house team — planning, design, video, technical production, and IT/web all delivered by a single REFAD team, removing vendor coordination overhead for the client's APAC marketing lead.
- 3D-visualized stage proposal — clinical-grade stage and spatial concepts rendered in Rhino + KeyShot + Enscape before construction, so global brand and APAC regional teams could align with confidence.
- Multilingual run-of-show — English-medium cue sheets and Korean operational briefings, with simultaneous interpretation booth and audio routing prepared for multiple APAC languages.
- Clinical content production — opening VCR, KOL session highlights, physician interviews, and case-study video shot and edited to medical-grade narrative standards, suitable for post-event APAC-wide medical education rollout.
- On-site command — dedicated PM, technical director, and floor managers from REFAD's in-house technical division, briefed on the protocol expectations of HCP audiences.
